Updating Your Passport? Don’t Let Outdated Info Stall Your Trusted Entry

Global Entry relies on your passport details to match what’s in the CBP database. If you’ve renewed or replaced your passport, updating your information with the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) system right away helps you breeze through airports and avoid awkward surprises at kiosks. Both online and in-person options are available, but the right method depends on your situation.

How to Update Your Passport in Global Entry

Here’s how to keep your Global Entry active and accurate after you receive a new passport.

01

Sign in to your TTP account

Access your Trusted Traveler Programs profile at https://ttp.dhs.gov/login.

Use your login.gov credentials. If you have trouble signing in, troubleshoot SMS codes or reset your password as needed.

02

Navigate to 'Update Documents'

Open your Global Entry membership profile and look for the document update section.

You’ll see options to edit or update your passport details.

03

Enter your new passport details

Input the new passport number, issue/expiration dates, and issuing country.

Double-check for typos before saving. Your info should match your exact passport data.

04

Save changes and log out

Confirm your updates and make sure your Global Entry record now matches your new passport.

Print or screenshot the confirmation for your records.

05

Traveling soon? Bring both passports

Traveling within a week of your update? Bring both your old and new passports to the airport.

This can prevent issues at kiosks or with airline staff if data hasn’t synced yet.
